November 20, 2016 Transgender Day of Remembrance

The Beer City Sisters and The Greenville Sisters joined the community at the Transgender Day of Remembrance Vigil held at Pritchard Park in Downtown, Ashevillle were we read 278 names of transgender men and women whose lives were taken violently in the last year, around the world.

Sister Margarita del Encanto stood, wearing the White Veil of Remembrance, on which those gathered wrote messages, names, thoughts and feelings about TDoR.

Once the official observance had concluded and the crowds dispersed, we traveled over to O.Henrys for some ministry and sororal bonding to lighten our moods and share in the joy of our shared missions.

We ended the evening with a "family dinner" at Mellow Mushroom and further bonding with our extended Carolinas family.
